Overview

What separates a deck people follow

A presentation is a sequence, not a collection of slides. The audience needs to know early what you want them to believe or do, then see each piece of support in an order that builds toward it. We start by outlining that argument in plain sentences. If the outline does not hold up as text, no amount of design will rescue it on screen.

Two uses pull a deck in opposite directions. A spoken deck should be sparse, with one idea per slide and the detail carried by the speaker. A sent deck, read without a presenter, needs enough text to stand alone. Trying to serve both usually produces dense slides that work for neither. We often design a presenting version and a leave-behind version from the same content.

Strong decks share a few habits: headlines that state the point rather than the topic, charts reduced to the comparison that matters, consistent layouts so attention stays on content, and a clear final ask. We also build every deck on a proper master template, so edits after delivery stay aligned and on-brand. Fonts, colors and chart styles are embedded or documented, so the file looks the same on every laptop it is opened on.

In practice

Decks we design most often

  • Investor pitch decks

We structure the problem, solution, market, traction, team and ask into a logical sequence, design clear charts from the figures you provide, and prepare a shorter teaser version for first-contact emails.

  • Sales proposal templates

Proposals repeat the same sections with different details. We build a template with locked brand elements, flexible case slides and pricing-table placeholders your team fills in, so each proposal looks consistent.

  • Conference keynote presentations

Stage presentations need big type, strong images and pacing that matches the talk. We design for the venue’s screen ratio, add builds and transitions purposefully, and prepare backup files for the AV team. Speaker notes are included.

  • Board and quarterly reports

Recurring report decks benefit from fixed structures. We design layouts for metrics, updates and decisions needed, so each quarter only the numbers and commentary change and readers find information in familiar places.

Process

How we work

  1. 1

    Audience brief

We discuss who will see the deck, what they already know, what objections they might raise and what decision you want from them, then agree on length and format. We also note the setting and screen size.

  2. 2

    Narrative outline

We draft the storyline as a list of slide headlines. Reading those headlines in order should make the full argument, and we revise the sequence with you before designing anything.

  3. 3

    Slide layouts

We design a handful of key slides first, such as the title, a data slide and a section opener, to set the visual direction before applying it across the full deck.

  4. 4

    Full build

We design every slide, converting bullet lists into diagrams, simplifying charts and adding builds where they aid understanding, then share the complete draft for your comments and rehearsal. Charts stay editable for later updates.

  5. 5

    Rehearsal polish

After you rehearse, we adjust pacing, trim slides that drag and add speaker notes, then deliver final editable files, a PDF version and any backup formats your venue needs. We stay available for last-minute changes.
